Oluchi is a Professor, Actor, Writer, and Director, and a Anime connoisseur. Her favorite anime currently is Demon Slayer. Born and raised in San Jose, California, Oluchi spent her formative training years at San Jose State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and African-American Studies. She attended The University of Florida where she obtained her Masters of Fine Arts in Acting. There she studied and mastered acting techniques from Konstanstin Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, Alexander Technique, Arthur Lessac for voice and movement, Ann Bogart, and Viola Spolin. She is classically trained in Shakespeare, Greek Tragedy and Comedy, period styles, realism, and naturalism.
Upon graduating form the University of Florida, Oluchi moved to New York City where she spent a year hitting the pavement auditioning for regional and Broadway shows all while working as a House Manager at Second Stage an Off-Broadway theatre company.
When she left New York, she moved to Los Angeles to work on breaking into the tv and film industry. While short lived due to money lol, she learned a lot about the process of auditioning for tv and film as well as getting representation in Los Angeles. Upon moving back to the Bay Area, Oluchi worked consistently as an actor working with companies such as Marin Shakespeare, Cutting Ball Theatre, African-American Shakespeare, SJ Stage, Shotgun Players, and the Pear Theatre.
Through her work as an artist over the last decade, Oluchi has met and worked with many people gaining extensive experience and life lessons along the way. She has cultivated and hones her own process of entering the acting work that she passes on to her students. She prides herself on her work ethic. Her approach is didactic, truthful, playful, and intensive.
